Dental Campout 2009

We recently went camping with a bunch of our friends from the dental school. We had a great time and camped at a new place in Keystone State Park. Our campsite was beautiful and sat right on the edge of the lake where Hudson was able to fish all morning long. He is getting quite good, and is able to cast, snag, and reel in the fish all by himself. He still is not quite comfortable getting the fish off the hook, but he LOVES fishing. He caught about 20 fish that morning and he could not stop talking about it. It has been so fun to see him get into it. He are a few highlights of our trip.

A nice, peaceful nap in the woods.....

And Tate didn't like it. Really, he did sleep, but was not excited about being in the
tree cave when he woke up.

As you can see, our camp was not exactly organized.

My Name is Hudson and I Like to Party.......

Literally. So Hudson is a big three year old. I can hardly believe it and I don't have any idea where all the time has gone, but my little boy who was just a baby two minutes ago is now a "big boy". We have been through quite the adventure so far with daily ups and downs, but I love this little man more than I could ever conceive. He means the world to me and with being my first child, I can contribute the immense joy I have in being a mother and also the gallons (seriously probably buckets) of tears shed out of frustration, and happiness of course...but mostly frustration:) But all in all he is such a light to our home and definitely exudes an energy that could not come from anyone else. We love him with everything we have.

Here is the highlight of the day....or as Tim termed it the "birthday week". It really was ridiculous how much fun he had this year. I don't think next year will be quite so extravagant, but he was due for something since last year was a cake, period. Get ready, there are A LOT of pictures.

Hudson sporting his new bike, "The Gravel Blaster"

First time ever at Chucky Cheese. He was in heaven and kept asking me if
the life size Chucky Cheese could come to his pool party.

Hudson's official Birthday Party......everything Dinosaur! The weather finally
coorperated after we canceled the original date of the party due to "severe thunderstorm warnings". Of course I walked outside at 3:30 pm- the exact time the party would
have started, and there was SUN. No one can predict the weather here.

THE BIRTHDAY CAKE

(I am still finding green frosting throughout my kitchen. Only Lindsey will know the
nightmare I got myself into when I started this wonderful project. Thank heaven she
took my kids or they may not have eaten that day.)

Hudson's Dino shirt made by Keri. He LOVES it to say the least.

For Billy- the creative genius behind this shot.

The face says it all. Happy Birthday Hudson! We love you.

If you are one who can't see my pics.....

I have finally figured out why some people can't see my pics and some can. For some reason, not exactly sure, you need to view my blog through the Mozilla Firefox browser. You can get it here. Thanks!

It's hard to come by a good dentist.....

Unless you are Hudson of course.

Hudson was fortunate enough to head to the dentist last Friday. Tim has been saying for the longest time that he wanted to get Hudson a check up, so finally we scheduled it. I always wondered how he would do, but after the weeks, ok basically his whole life, of Tim looking in his mouth with his dental instruments, he was fabulous!! He literally sat there the whole time, calm as can be while his dad picked and poked around looking for anything that even resembled a cavity. Heaven forbid the dentists' child has a cavity.... but thankfully, he was clean.

The office staff and everyone that Tim works with at the school could not get enough of the boys and Hudson seriously scored. I am not sure if all the kids that go to the Pedo department steal off with all the goods Hudson did, but they really spoiled him like crazy....even going in the back to find a Lightning McQueen toothbrush. They were wonderful.

Here is Hudson sporting the sweet protective eyewear. He thought he
was the coolest in those glasses.

Tim hard at work......excuse me, that would be "Dr. Mosher" hard at work. Weird, yet believable, especially after the enormous filling he drilled on me awhile back.

The perfect smile.

We had a great time and it really was fun to sit and watch Tim in action. It gives me hope and sheds at least a flicker of light on the fact that what we have been doing for the past 3 years is going to be worth it. Tim will be a great dentist. Only one more year and then on to bigger and better things in periodontics!

For my sister in law.......

Here are a few of the pics I took of Porter and Claire while they were here in PA with us. There are so many more......... and so little time. Erica, I will finish them when I get back. Hopefully these will hold you over until then.

Love you!!

I just realized that I didn't edit any pics where Porter was smiling!!! Sorry about that- there are some really great ones of those also.

30 years young

In March we celebrated the incredible amount of wisdom Tim has acquired in his 30 years of being on this earth. He was not excited about turning 30, but we had a great time anyway......how could you not with donut tower cakes and remote control airplanes?????

Our Spontaneous Trip to Philly...

Highlights of our Trip:

Independence Hall

Benjamin Franklin Park

(Lainey and Hudson couldn't get enough of the teeter totter. Bless these little Asian girls that kept it going until we FINALLY pulled them off!)

Liberty Bell

Feeding the Birds

Swimming which is ALL Hudson could talk about.

MATER

Hudson just couldn't stand that Mater was parked right across the street from us the whole time we were there. We HAD to get a picture.

(can't you just see the love in his face)

Chinese Cuisine in Chinatown

A Little Reese's Love
(don't think I haven't eaten 5 Reese's Eggs since Sunday)

And who can't go to Philly without a little ROCKY action, camo style!!

We loved our trip....it was quick but a lot of fun. Time is winding down here in Pittsburgh. Only one year left- well I guess it could be three more after that... (deep sigh). Regardless, we have to take advantage of every minute.
