A Little Bit of Everything.

So I feel like I have so much to catch up on that I don't even know where to start. Over a month has gone by since Valentines.....actually two months now, and we have been going a million miles an hour. There is a ton to update so I will get right to it.

We have had much to be grateful for, namely:

1. A patch of warm weather

even if it was still gray...... Unfortunately one must get used to that here in Pittsburgh. But, it was warm so we headed out, exploring one of the many trails around. We started at Station Square, went across the river to downtown, followed the Eliza Furnace trail back across the river and ended at South Side Works where we spent the afternoon shopping and relishing in my favorite Icee, Ritas. It was an eventful day of fun, yet somehow our children have a 6th sense. Of course they decided to have a massive breakdown when we were only 10 minutes from the car. The joys of taking kids in public. But nonetheless, we had a blast and can't wait for more bike rides and especially THE SUN!!!!

2. Medical Insurance

3. This Face.

And this face again.......

4. Lightning McQueen

Sometimes I wonder, "what would life be like without Lightning McQueen?"..... definitely boring in Hudson's eyes. There are moments where I feel like I just want to run away from everything CARS, but then I realize that more often than not, he is the friend for Hudson that gets us through the day. And for that, I love him.

Happy Valentines!

We had a pretty uneventful Valentines Day here at the Mosher house, but we did at least get some cookies decorated. Everyone participated, although Tim fought it saying he would have to write "mushy" stuff........typical guy. But we had a good time. Hudson wanted to show Grandma his cookie for her, but when we called they had just been in their accident. There is nothing like crushing your car right after you bought it. If anyone knows, I do.....my poor Saturn. But we are thankful they are both ok. Hope you all had a great Valentines.

The Sweet Taste of Victory

I thought I would go into cardiac arrest. It was the 4th quarter of SuperBowl XLIII and Steelers were down 20-23 with 2:24 left in the fourth quarter. The house was divided with the Hulls and DJ on one side and Moshers, Clarks and Libby on the other. Billy had just finished his psychotic leg dance in the kitchen due to Fitzgerald running the ball all the way down and into the endzone for the Cards. Nightmare. I was trying not to lose faith saying "come on, we have got to do it" over and over again as I paced the floor. Ashley just simply could not watch. The Steelers head to the line of scrimmage and hike the ball. Roethlisberger dances around and finally finds a hole to Holmes. 1st down.....eruption. Line of scrimmage again. 3rd and 6, Roethlisberger to Holmes. 1st down again...... eruption followed by silent prayers. All we need is field goal range. 2nd and 6, Roethlisberger to Holmes.......reception and running, then more running and more running all the way to the 6. Complete pandemonium. At least we were going to tie. We were not out of this- not yet. 43 seconds left in the game. Roethlisberger goes back, dances then drills it to the top right corner.....to Holmes of course. TOUCHDOWN!!!!! THE STEELERS HAVE WON THE SUPERBOWL! I was near hyperventilation, jumping up and down. Tim and Hudson were running all over the house giving people five and poor Tate was suffering from Shaken Baby Syndrome due to my jumping. We were all so excited.

After the celebration at Jones' house, we headed for home. It was funny because Tim and I were talking as we were leaving what kind of crazies we would find on our way home......and did we ever. There were tons of people just flooding the streets everywhere. We had seen a picture on the news of Oakland where Tim goes to school and it was just a mass of solid people all over the streets. They had shut everything down. Thousands and thousands of people. People were coming out everywhere. At every intersection on our way home, there were people out waving their "Terrible Towels" and screaming at the top of their lungs. They were running in and around cars as we would stop at the lights and the tunnels were an orchestra of honking, deafening to the ears. My favorite display of celebration though was this man who was in the center of the road as we approached an intersection. He was freaking out and pointed up and to the left, apparently trying to get everyone to look over there. As I peared out my window in the direction he was pointing, I saw a HUGE billboard where some nut case had climbed up and was dancing in front of it. It was hilarious.

Needless to say, we had a fabulous Super Bowl Sunday. Honestly, it was the first time that I really got into the game- I had flashbacks of the days at BYU where I would cheer on the Cougs from the sidelines as they played the U and Richard's State Championship wrestling meet. Ok, I probably was not as intense as the wrestling days, but the excitement was definitely there. The whole city is still on a high, although I am pretty sure the enormous amounts of alcohol consumed has something to do with that. But, none the less, we love our team and are pumped we were here to experience it. All I can say is "GO STEELERS"!!

PS. Tate has a girlfriend, already. We were taking pictures of all the babies born in the last few months (Tate, Madi and Mack) and Tate and Madi reached up and grabbed hands. They sat there holding hands pretty much the entire time. It was so cute.

IT IS A MIRACLE!!!

It has happened. Finally after two and a half years of living in the Steel City, I have fallen........ fallen for the STEELERS! Really, I never thought this would happen. When we first moved to Pittsburgh, I thought everyone and I mean EVERYONE was ridiculous. I have never seen a place so obsessed with their NFL team. Everywhere we went, it was "Stillers". You name it and we have it in black and gold- unbelievable amounts of clothing.....I think everyone owns a Steelers jersey, car accessories, enormous blow up lawn figures and my favorite, black and gold tortilla chips sold in EVERY grocery store around. The news is OCD when it comes to covering the team. It seems like even in the off season they are talking about something Stillers. I thought it was Ludicrous.

But now, a transformation......... All I can say is GO STILLERS!!! I don't know how it happened, but I have found myself this year embracing the loonacy and have actually enjoyed partaking in the euphoria that blankets this city. It bleeds black and gold. I truly hope they win tomorrow. We will be watching and cheering as our team attempts another Super Bowl win. We love it. GO STILLERS!!!!

Winter Fun

We are freezing........literally. Pittsburgh this year has been so much colder and snowier than any other year that we have been here. It has been crazy how much snow has accumulated on the ground when in past years, nothing has really stuck. It has been fun though. My thought has always been, if it is going to be cold, we may as well have snow. At least we can play in it and it somewhat covers up the gray and dismal landscape. The only downfall is the "freezing rain" where you go out to car in a hurry to get somewhere and realize that there is and inch thick sheet of ice covering your entire car......let's just say you have to chip your way in and start the car, then take 30 minutes trying to get the rest off. NOT PLEASANT. Driving is impossible but I have to admit it is nice every once in awhile to get that call on a cold Sunday morning saying that church has been canceled. Is it ok to like that?

We also have to be pretty creative indoors as well. With all the time we spend hanging out in our little two bedroom apartment, we end up having severe cabin fever unless we come up with other things to do. Hudson is getting quite good at this lately with his "Batman" flying, tent making and sheer running as fast as "Lico Queen" (Lightning McQueen) down the hallway. He makes me laugh everyday which I am thankful for. I have a great time with my boys and cannot believe how old they are getting. I love and hate it.

Christmas Card 2008

Here is our Christmas card- I was ridiculously late this year with getting them out and then it got to be so late that I didn't know if I should send them. So there sits a stack in my closet. Sorry to all- I don't know what my problem was. For some reason I was not thinking about Christmas and then all of a sudden we were leaving for Utah......there is always repentance, right????

Family Pics 2008

So we finally did our family pictures. Thank you to Lindsey who came and snapped on a VERY cold afternoon in downtown Pittsburgh. And I finally got pictures of ME with my boys. I swear I am always the one behind the camera and never get anything with me and the kids, so I was glad to finally get something.
